Review: The Simpsons Don’t Be A Donut Card Game

donut-card-game

This game is a lot of fun. The rules are pretty much the same as uno. You deal out 6 cards to each player and the rest form a draw pile with one card turned over to form the discard pile. You spend the game taking it in turns to get rid of your cards one at a time in turn. You can only place a card that has the same number value or background colour as the card in the discard pile. If you don’t have such a card in your hand you have to take one from the draw pile. You do this until you can place a new card down. Krusty cards are wild and allow you to place any colour down and those donut cards force the next player to take two cards from the draw pile. The whole point of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards and shout out ‘don’t be a donut’ – although we wouldn’t shout this out if we were travelling with this game!🙂

There are no other cards apart from those I’ve mentioned unlike with uno which has a few more types of cards like the reverse play card. But this doesn’t take away from the fun. The cards themselves are nicely made. The cards say jumbo and although bigger than a standard deck size they really aren’t very much bigger. The images on each of the cards are different, apart from the donuts and krusty cards. They all feature the simpsons characters all standing and looking back at you!🙂 The types of characters that appear are co-ordinated to the colours such as the yellow cards will have the Simpson family(including their pets)!

This game is a lot of fun and a great game for kids and those who are simpsons fans. The deck comes with a copy of the rules printed on an additional card making the whole game easy to learn and great fun to play. I’d recommend this game to fans of the simpsons and uno. It’s a great game for adults and kids, quick to pick up and quick and fun to play!
