I was sent this konjac sponge set by Pegasus Guild Limited for free for a review.
This would make such a wonderful gift for someone you care about, or even yourself! The 3 konjac sponges come in a lovely box that makes them feel like a gift. Inside the sponges come neatly placed along with a small glossy leaflet about the sponges and how to use them plus a thank you card.
Each of the sponges comes individually wrapped in plastic. The first thing you do is take this plastic off and soak the sponge in water. The sponges look a bit like a pumice stone when you first see them but are as light as a feather! Soaking them is quite fun and you’ll notice them starting to expand to about twice its original size.
Once they are soaked they feel just like a traditional sponge, but somehow more springy. They can be used to cleanse your face on their own, but if like me you are a little over sensitive to their smell then I’d advise using your favourite cleanser, whatever that may be, the first time to absorb the ‘new’ smell. The sponges quickly absorb the smell of your cleanser and that’s how you can get over any issues with it. The smell by the way isn’t anything offending, a bit like a new synthetic sponge has a ‘new’ smell. I really don’t know how to describe it, but like all new things I prefer them to smell of the products I like🙂.
The feel of the konjac sponges is very different to synthetic sponges I am used to. The konjac sponges are so much softer and gentler on the skin. So much so that it actually felt like I had put some cream on my skin. The sponges are just amazing and whenever I use them I really do feel like I am moisturising while I gently cleanse.
There are 3 different colours in this pack, and they all are great for different types of skin. The white sponge is additive free and is great for those with sensitive skin and for using on babies; the green sponge has green tea and is packed with antioxidants and minerals and is great for sunburnt or damaged skin; finally the black sponge has charcoal and is best for those with oily and acne-prone skin.
These sponges really are great to use and they come with a little string handle to help hang it up so it can dry. There is advise inside the box on how to properly soak, use and then dry your sponge so refer to this if you need to. I’d also advise heading over to thebeautyshelf.org for more information on these amazing sponges.
These sponges are truly wonderful and I can’t get enough of them. I’d recommend them to anyone who wants to pamper themselves. This would really make a great gift for your friends, family and of course yourself!🙂
