Review: Them – The Summoning

I bought this game in a store over a year ago and was very impressed with the game play itself. the entire game runs from the disc which is great if you don’t have much space on your hard drive but these days most hidden object games don’t require a disc so this was a little annoying. The story line itself and the puzzles of finding the objects is very good with a good overall atmosphere and good music.

Just in case people are not familiar, hidden object games show you a scene and there are lots of objects hidden within a picture, your job is to find the ones on the list and click on them using your mouse.

The game itself I thought was very strong and the storyline very good right until the ending where you realise (and the game tells you) that the story will continue with parts 2 and 3. You are actually left with a cliff-hanger moment in the game and are expected to wait for parts 2 and 3 to be sold to complete the story.

BEWARE: As far as I have searched and searched I cannot find parts 2 and 3 anywhere. I have done searches both here and generally on the internet and just can’t find these parts. So the story remains incomplete. If anyone ever does find these games please let me know but otherwise I’d warn buyers to be aware that although for a cheap game it’s still very playable, you won’t finish the main story line and if the story of a game is important to you then I’d advise against buying it.

Gameplay: 4/5

Overall Rating: 2/5
